Marigold

Marigold, oil on paper, 28" x 22"

I loved working with the color and subtle pattern in this piece. The golden orange is so vivid–I considered titling the piece "Cheez Doodle!"

Portrait of Ms. Vicky

Ms. Vicky, oil on panel, 30" x 40"

I spent months, on and off, working on Vicky's portrait. I finally delivered it to her about a week ago and she was very pleased. It was challenging to work at this larger scale, but I'm pleased with the end result, too.

Eggs in Color

Eggs, Purple, mixed media on panel, 6" x 6"

I thought it would be a lot of fun to work with a still life composition where the subject was very simple in color and form, and the background was layered with information. Both of these pieces were started with road atlas pages, layered with graphite drawing, paint and drips of Gamsol (I really like that effect). I'm pleased with them, but antsy to get back to working with the figure, which will be next.
